The new owner plans to open all 850 fast-food restaurants in a month and a half to two months. They will start opening establishments in Moscow and the Moscow region, and then move on to the Far East, Siberia and the Urals.
The new owner of the former McDonald's restaurant chain, Alexander Govor, said he plans to open 50-80 renovated restaurants every week. The first 15 will open tomorrow, June 12, in Moscow and the Moscow region.
Another 50 restaurants are scheduled to open next week. And so they will open within a month and a half to two months, Govor said on the air of the TV channel "Russia 24".
McDonald's had a total of 850 restaurants in Russia, all of which will open in a revamped form in the near future. According to Govor's plan, the openings will begin in Moscow and the Moscow region and continue in the Far East, Siberia, and the Urals.
McDonald's left Russia on May 16 after two months of downtime. The business was sold to Alexander Govor. The chain will have a new logo and a new name, the menu names will also be updated. Employees of the former McDonald's will continue to work in their positions.
