Ministry of Internal affairs of Belarus warned about possible use of combat weapon

Representatives of the department said that the security forces will not leave the streets of Minsk and, if necessary, are ready to use military weapons and special equipment against the protesters, who were called anarchists, militants and radicals.

After the next opposition protests in Belarus, the Ministry of Internal Affairs issued a warning about the use of force. The message was published on Monday in the Telegram channel of the press secretary of the department.

According to First Deputy Interior Minister Gennady Kazakevich, the nature of the protests, which are already taking place mainly in the capital, has acquired an extreme degree of radicality. Therefore, servicemen of the internal troops will not leave the streets and will use special equipment and combat weapons if necessary.

Kazakevich also said that government officials faced groups of militants, radicals and anarchists who want to "plunge Belarus into the chaos of the 90s and force the sad path of republics that survived color revolutions."
