The split of the supercontinent Gondwana 100 million years ago resulted in the separation of Australia and Antarctica. After that, after 20 million years, Zealandia separated from Antarctica and then went underwater.

As we know, Zealandia is considered the youngest and thinnest continent, which is comparable to India in these parameters. The flooded areas, as reported on the AGU website, were investigated using satellites, as well as during marine expeditions.

The information obtained suggests that about 95% of Zealand's territory is hidden under water, and through mapping it is possible to identify plateaus, depressions, as well as plains and mountains on this continent.
