Today, August 11, is the two-year anniversary of the registration of the world's first coronavirus vaccine, Sputnik V. Marking this date, RDIF CEO Kirill Dmitriev spoke about the effectiveness of the drug, its production and research. He also emphasized that in two years since its registration, the vaccine has become the most exported Russian medicine.
According to him, the vaccine Gam-CovID-Vac (Sputnik V) has proven to be safe and effective against COVID-19. This is confirmed by both clinical trials and data of vaccine use in other countries.
Kirill Dmitriev also noted that Sputnik V helped to overcome the peak of the disease and protected against the original strain of coronavirus. It also proved effective in combating virus mutations.
Separately, the RDIF director general stated that the Sputnik V vaccination played an important role in lifting anticovirus restrictions.
