Milk production in the country has already fallen by 3%.
Britain's largest dairy producer Arla Foods told The Telegraph newspaper about the threat of a shortage of milk. The reason for this will be a shortage of workers, rising prices for fuel and feed for livestock.
“Farmers are suffering from the soaring prices of fuel, animal feed and fertilizer, while labor shortages are also hurting the industry,” said Esh Amirahmadi, managing director of the company.
Amirahmadi noted that the British will face a shortage of dairy products if milk production drops to 5%. Now this figure is at the level of 3% and the decrease has occurred since the beginning of this year.
The company is negotiating with the authorities of the country to obtain fertilizers and fuel necessary for the dairy industry.
