Russia has proposed introducing a four-day working week for large families.
Parliamentarians have proposed to introduce a 4-day working week for parents with many children. The bill will be sent to the Cabinet of Ministers on August 10 for feedback, Izvestia reports.
The leader of the LDPR faction Leonid Slutsky noted that for Russians raising three or more children, having an extra day off is an opportunity to pay attention to each child, his upbringing and health.
This opportunity will be extended to large families, in which all children are minors, until the oldest of them reaches the age of 14.
According to the authors of the initiative, the innovation will contribute to improving demography in the country.
The Liberal Democrats also proposed to keep the salaries of parents with many children at the same level as those of professionals who work five days a week.
Deputies from other factions were ambivalent about the initiative, believing that the benefit could cause discrimination against such employees, as they would do less work for the same salary. Parents with many children may start to experience difficulties with employment against this background.
