Russian airport has restricted operations for security reasons

After the introduction of temporary restrictions on the work of the airport in Kazan, flights headed there were redirected to alternate airfields in Begishevo and Samara. This was reported by the airport's press service in the Telegram channel.

Airline representatives and airport staff are working with passengers in accordance with federal aviation regulations.

On the morning of June 10, Rosaviatsia announced temporary restrictions on airport operations for arrivals and departures, explaining it by security concerns. SHOT and Baza news channels speculated that this was due to the threat of drone attacks.

Earlier, on June 3 and May 31, the work of the airport in Kazan was also restricted due to measures to ensure the safety of civil aircraft flights. At that time, airplanes were also directed to alternate airfields, including the airport in Samara.

Later, the Defense Ministry reported the shooting down of a Ukrainian drone that was trying to attack objects on the territory of Tatarstan.

Earlier on the night of June 10, the Crimean bridge was blocked.
