Governor of the Orenburg region Denis Pasler announced that the level of the Ural River exceeded the mark of 10 meters. The dangerous value is 930 cm, so the situation is assessed as critical.

The information was announced during the meeting of the head of the region with the head of the Ministry of Construction Irek Faizullin and local residents, as reported by the agency "RIA Novosti".

As of 12:00 local time, the level of the Ural River was 996 cm. Earlier, the mayor of Orenburg Sergey Salmin noted that about 2.4 thousand household plots and 1.9 thousand houses were flooded. The number of affected settlements continues to grow, and over the last night the number of evacuees reached 865 people.

The authorities of the Orenburg region believe that the collision with such a high water level is the most serious in the history of observations. A federal emergency regime has been declared and the damage to infrastructure is estimated at about 21 billion rubles. Due to waterlogging, partial evacuations have been carried out in a number of settlements, including Orenburg and Orsk.
