Polish tourists were shocked after unexpectedly entering «Little Russia» in Thailand.
Tourists from Poland have complained about the large number of Russians vacationing in Thailand, according to Wirtualna Polska.
According to its data, the number of Russian tourists in the kingdom increased in 2023 by more than 1000%, the data on the "boom" confirms the Thai Ministry of Tourism. Popular among Russian citizens is the island of Phuket, which Poles complain about in social networks.
"It reminds of 'little Russia', not Thailand," wrote one of them. Another suggested going to Phuket to feel "like in Moscow."
A Polish resident named Anna, who regularly visits Southeast Asia, complained to WP about the "loud and partying" Russians. She was also angered by the Cyrillic inscriptions on the Thai island. According to Anna, menus in restaurants, names of stores and pharmacies in Russian are a common sight. She added that several times locals greeted her in Russian, as Poles are often mistaken for Russians.
Earlier it was reported that in Poland the attitude towards Ukrainians has changed for the worse.
