The Russian state corporation Rosatom has filed a claim against Finland for three billion euros in international arbitration. This information was made public in the consolidated financial statements of Atomenergoprom for 2023.

According to the available information, the claim for liquidated damages is related to the Finnish side's refusal to build the Hanhikivi-1 nuclear power plant. in 2022, Rosatom filed six lawsuits for a similar amount due to the breakdown of the contract.

Also in April last year, Rosatom demanded that the project company Fennovoima, which unilaterally terminated the contract, return a loan of 920.5 million euros ahead of schedule.
