The top manager of one of the retailers of the French Groupe SMCP said that the clothing brands Sandro and Maje are planning to leave the Russian market. This has been confirmed by four shopkeepers in Moscow.

The company has closed several boutiques, and only effective outlets continue to operate, said the consulting company CORE.XP.

Sandro and Maje came to Russia eight years ago. They are among the first European brands operating in the Middle-up segment (the lower end of the premium price segment) with a strong design identity, stressed the owner of the Russian brand I AM Studio Oleg Voronin.

At the moment all Groupe SMCP brands are represented in Russia - women's Sandro, Maje, Claudie Pierlot and men's Fursac. Olga Steinberg, the founder of the agency Fashion Pumping, specified that the first two have offline stores and the last two are represented in multi-brand stores.

According to one Maje saleswoman, the store had no deliveries in June-July and has no plans yet.

"The boutiques will continue to operate, but they will sell Claudie Pierlot and Fursac clothing," she specified in a conversation with Izvestia.
