The UN said that the situation after the destruction of the Kakhovska hydroelectric power plant (HPP) may worsen in the next few hours. This was reported by RIA Novosti citing a press release of the organization.

It is noted that more towns and villages are being flooded because of the constant rise of the water level. The UN press-release informs that such situation may affect people's access to basic services, as well as create serious risks to human health.

Earlier today, June 7, the Acting Governor of Kherson region Vladimir Saldo said that more than four thousand people have been evacuated from the flooded areas. All of them are placed in temporary accommodation points, where residents are provided with beds, free meals, as well as medical care.
