Moscow became the leader in the rating of Russian cities with the highest quality of life. The second place was taken by the cultural capital - St. Petersburg. Grozny closes the top 3.

Magnitogorsk, Vladimir, Tula, Kaluga, Naberezhnye Chelny, Belgorod and Nizhny Novgorod are also in the top ten cities in Russia.

The outsiders of the list were Khabarovsk, Astrakhan and Barnaul.

Researchers took into account such factors as income level of citizens, propensity to migrate, interest in cultural values (theaters, books, museums), state of roads and quality of public transport, quality of medicine and education, performance of housing and communal services, business conditions, environmental conditions, general population anxiety, as well as the incidence of domestic violence and injuries.

Information about the attitudes and assessments of living conditions of the population was collected with the help of opinion polls. In addition, the authors used data from the Russian Federal State Statistics Service, the Central Bank, and information from open sources.
