The body of a giant orange carp has been discovered in the Bluewater Lakes fishing pond in Champaign. Although the exact age of the fish remains a mystery, many experts believe that Carrot lived for about 20 years and died of old age. Her unusual bright coloring and impressive weight of 30 kilograms made her a world celebrity.

Carrot was not just a fish - she was a real legend for fishermen from all over the world. People would come to Champagne with the hope of catching this giant carp and then respectfully release it back into the water. Her catch was considered a symbol of good luck.

After her passing, Carrot was buried next to the pond with a plaque memorializing her memory. A spokesperson for Bluewater Lakes emphasized that the fish was “one of a kind” and that her legacy will continue through her offspring - two of her fry are already growing, one of which has reached a weight of 18 pounds. The Daily Mail reports that.

Lee Parker, who was one of the last fishermen to catch Carrot just a few weeks ago, expressed shock and sadness, “It's a huge loss for all of us. I'm happy I was able to catch her and I'm sure her memory will live on forever.”

Earlier in India, fishermen caught the rare Telia Bhola fish. And in the delta of the Astrakhan reserve, the Azov-Black Sea tulka was found.
