The restrictions go into effect on April 17.
According to the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Tokyo has banned the export of 164 additional categories of goods to Russia as part of sanctions against Russia over the situation in Ukraine.
Japan imposes a ban on supplies of automobile oils, lithium-ion and nickel-metal hydride batteries, pipes for gas and oil pipelines, nitrocellulose.
In addition, exports of floating cranes and docks, floating and submersible drilling and production platforms, yachts, pleasure craft and fireboats are banned.
The restrictions will begin to take effect on April 17.
Earlier, South Korea imposed sanctions against Russian citizens and companies because of alleged cooperation with the DPRK.
