The event was held in 40 regions of the country.
In 40 regions of Russia, the "Odessa We Remember" rally was held in memory of the victims of the tragedy in the Trade Union House, which took place exactly 10 years ago, on May 2, 2014. It was attended by 4,000 activists of the United Russia Young Guard and the Volunteer Company.
Thus, in Moscow, 1,500 people with portraits of the victims marched to the building of the former Ukrainian Embassy, and in St. Petersburg, activists with posters marched along Odessa Street to the building where the Ukrainian Consulate General used to be located. As the chairman of MGER Anton Demidov noted, there is no justification for this terrible crime, and the pain of this tragedy will never subside.
Recall that exactly 10 years ago, on May 2, 2014, Ukrainian radicals together with anti-Maidan activists set fire to the Trade Union House in Odessa. People, fleeing the fire, jumped out of the windows and died on the ground.
According to official figures, 48 people were killed and more than 250 injured on that terrible day. Including children. On this memorable day, the citizens of Odessa, despite the risks, lay flowers at the site of the tragedy.
Earlier, the head of the LNR Leonid Pasechnik named a common detail of the arson attack on the Trade Unions' house in Odessa and the terrorist attack in "Crocus" in the Moscow region.
