Thai Ambassador to Russia Sasivat Wongsinsawat said that the Russian payment system "Mir" may soon work in the kingdom, writes TASS.
"We hope that the Mir payment system or alternatives will soon work, and it will serve to increase the flow of tourists, trade and exchange of services between our two countries," Wongsinsawat said.
The diplomat added that Moscow and Bangkok are in talks to implement the project. However, the current financial situation and sanctions have delayed its implementation. Despite this, service providers from Russia and Thailand are in contact to find an alternative solution, Wongsinsawat said.
