WHO says more deaths due to COVID-19 in most parts of the world

Mortality is increasing in most regions of the world due to the rapid spread of «omicron».

The head of the WHO Tedros Adanom Gebreyesus said that the covid strain "Omicron" is rapidly spreading around the world and leads to an increase in mortality. He said this during a briefing in Geneva, TASS reported.

"Since Omicron was first discovered 10 weeks ago, nearly 90 million cases of infection have been reported to the WHO. That's more than in all of 2020," the organization's director general noted.

According to Gebreyesus, the number of deaths has increased in all regions of our planet.
