A champion of Disney's polished family image, Bob Iger led the company from 2005 to 2020 and remained executive chairman of the group until the end of 2021, Le Parisien reported.
Bob Iger is back. Disney's board of directors has asked him to succeed Bob Chapek as CEO in 2020, after 15 years in the job, to revitalize the company.
Bob Iger, 71, has agreed to return to lead Enchanted Kingdom for two years in order to develop a strategy for "renewed growth," Disney said in a statement. He will also work with the board to find a successor.
"The board felt that as Disney enters an increasingly complex period of industry transformation, Bob Iger is uniquely positioned to lead the company at this critical time," board chair Susan Arnold said in a statement.
