Three years after Madame X's tour, which she had to cut short because of knee problems, the 64-year-old American pop star will return to the stage to celebrate the 40th anniversary of her career. Her anniversary tour will take place Nov. 12 and 13 in Paris.
For months, Madonna's Instagram account (banned in Russia) has been hinting at a return to the stage. Now it's official. The pop star will celebrate her 40th career anniversary in 2023 with The Celebration Tour world tour. Her producer, Live Nation, announced Tuesday that she will perform in 35 cities.
The first will be Vancouver on July 15; the last will be Amsterdam on Dec. 1. In between, she decided to stop in Paris at her favorite venue, the Accor Arena, Nov. 12 and 13. Tickets for the show were open Tuesday, Jan. 17, to fan club members, while everyone else will have to wait until Friday, Jan. 20.
Three years after her exceptional Madame X theater tour, which she had to cut short first because of recurring knee problems and then because of the arrival of Covid-19, Madonna returns at 64 with a retrospective of her career in large indoor venues but not stadiums. As for her discography, she returns to Warner, her first record company. Last year she released a live album from her latest tour and a compilation of 50 of her number one songs, including the very first Holiday, released in 1983.
