William, Prince of Wales and Duke of Cornwall, wrote warm words in memory of his deceased grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain.
"I lost my grandmother. And though I mourn her loss, I also feel an incredible amount of gratitude," Prince William noted.
According to him, Elizabeth II was by his side in his happiest and saddest moments. The Duke of Cornwall understood that one day the moment of parting would come, but was not yet ready to accept it.
"I understood that day would come, but it would take time before the reality of life without her became truly real," Prince William wrote on his and his wife's Twitter account.
The British queen's grandson stressed that his grandmother was a mentor to his wife, Kate, and his children spent a vacation with their great-grandmother that is imprinted on the boys' memories for life.
"By supporting my father, King Charles III, in every way possible, I will honor my grandmother's memory," William added.
