The 26-year-old gymnast and 35-year-old figure skater performed together as a pair on the Ice Age project.
Dmitry Solovyov, an Olympic champion in figure skating, and Dina Averina, a multiple world champion in rhythmic gymnastics, have officially become husband and wife.
Arina Averina announced this joyful news on her Instagram (owned by the Meta company, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation). Under the joint photo, Arina laconically wrote: "Husband and wife."
The 26-year-old gymnast and 35-year-old figure skater previously performed together on the Ice Age TV show. Information about the couple's upcoming wedding appeared in the public space in mid-February.
Sisters Dina and Arina Averina announced the end of their sports careers on February 23, 2024. At the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic, Dina Averina won a silver medal, ending a twenty-year streak of victories by Russian gymnasts in the individual all-around at the Olympic Games.
Solovyov competed in ice dancing with Ekaterina Bobrova. The figure skater is the 2014 Olympic team tournament champion, the 2018 Olympic silver medalist in the team event, the 2013 World Championship bronze medalist, the 2013 European champion, and a seven-time Russian champion (from 2011 to 2014, as well as in 2016-2018).
