Scientists from China have tried to find out how human hearing perceives music and speech. As the study conducted by specialists from the Chinese University of Hong Kong showed, a simple metric is used for this purpose, which divides sounds into slow and smooth sound fragments, as well as fast and irregular.

As a result, in the first case, the brain perceives noise as music and in the second case as speech, according to PLOS Biology.

In this case, music is mainly in the frequency sound range up to two Hz, and speech - from four to five hertz.

Recall, according to scientists from the Icahn School of Medicine, to reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease can be, if you control the distance between amyloid plaques. And the set of microorganisms living in the brain may play a role in the development of neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's disease.

Also, researchers from the Flory Institute for Neuroscience and Mental Health found an interesting relationship between Alzheimer's and other diseases.
