Kirin Holdings has commissioned doctors from Kinki University (Japan) to study the response of the human brain to jokes and the laughter caused by them. It turned out that during laughter, a person's blood circulation is significantly activated, which in turn has a positive effect on cognitive abilities - the speed of reaction increased, the concentration of memory increased.

More than 20 men and women from 40 to 65 years old took part in the study of specialists of the Faculty of Medicine. They were shown videos of famous comedians' performances and tested the cognitive functions of the brain. Participants' memory and concentration improved significantly, they performed mathematical calculations in their minds faster, and they also answered questions from other areas of knowledge more accurately.

Doctors have confirmed that laughter activates blood circulation 2.7 times in the frontal lobes of the human brain and reduces the negative impact of psychological stress.
