In Kaliningrad the production of ultra-thin polyamide-based sutures used in surgery was launched. The startup laboratory appeared on the basis of the science and technology park "Fabrika" of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (BFU).

The filaments produced in the laboratory have a diameter of only 10 microns instead of the usual 40 microns and will be useful for use in vascular surgery, cardio- and neurosurgery.

Now the laboratory is conducting research on the production of composite sutures for different purposes.
