Scientists find way to train bees

Argentine scientists managed to train bees to pollinate mainly sunflowers.

According to a study published in Cell, a group of biologists led by Walter Farina from the University of Buenos Aires created a special flavoring that bees associate with sunflower.

It was added to the feed for the hives. As a result, bees began pollinating mainly sunflowers, which increased the seed yield in nearby fields by 29-57%.

Scientists have come to the conclusion that in this way it is possible to influence the yield of plants.

Researchers are currently studying other agricultural plants whose yields depend on pollination. They intend to create a whole line of fragrances for the "training" of bees.
