Scientists at the Massachusetts General Cancer Center conducted a study in which they discovered a gene that «helps» spread cancer cells in the human body.
According to the results in the journal Nature Cell Biology, it is because of this gene that cancer cells can move to other areas of the body, resulting in secondary tumors. During the experiment, the researchers found that suppression of the gene Gstt1 did not affect the primary cancer cells in mice, but deprived the ability to grow and spread.
