Vega launch vehicle mission fails due to deviation

The Vega rocket with two scientific satellites for remote sensing of the Earth deviated from the trajectory.

According to the operator Arianespace, today, November 17, from the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana, the Vega rocket was unsuccessfully launched, carrying two scientific satellites for remote sensing of the Earth. This was the seventeenth launch and the second failure.

Eight minutes later after start of a mission of Vega VV17, after the first engine ignition of the top step of Avum, the rocket deviated from the trajectory. The flight ended unsuccessfully. Thus, the Spanish Earth observation satellite SEOSAT-Ingenio and the French scientific apparatus TARANIS did not enter orbit.

The main reason for the failure of the mission could be the failure of the Ukrainian engine RD-843.
