Russia shipped last batch of RD-180 rocket engines to U.S.

NPO Energomash has supplied 122 engines to the United States in 12 years.

Under the previously signed contract, the Russian Federation sent the last batch of RD-180 rocket engines to the USA. NPO Energomash assembled 6 engines for US customers, Roscosmos said.

"Representatives of United Launch Alliance, Pratt&Whitney and RD AMROSS have signed forms for the engines," the state corporation said in a statement.

It is noted that the contract has been signed for 12 years. During this period, NPO Energomash has supplied the United States with 122 RD-180 engines.

The Russian engine is used on stage 1 of the US Atlas 5 rocket. The USA is going to abandon these engines in a few days.
