According to scientists, flushing the nose with weak saline twice a day will reduce COVID-19's ability to attach.
Researchers from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University have proposed a new way to reduce hospitalizations and deaths from coronavirus. The results of their study were published in the journal Ear, Nose & Throat.
The scientists suggested flushing the nasal cavity with a weak saline solution twice a day. During the experiment, they noted an 8.5-fold decrease in hospitalizations and deaths from covid compared to the control group.
Thus, of the 79 participants aged 55 years and older, less than 1.3% were admitted to the hospital; no one died.
In another sample that did not use the method, 9.47% were hospitalized and 1.5% died during the same time period.
It has been noted that the faster those who became ill flushed out some of the virus within 24 hours of a positive test, the more favorable the course of the disease.
