Observations of these distant planets will begin in September 2023.
Next month, NASA will begin observing the planets Uranus and Neptune with the New Horizons probe and the Hubble Space Telescope.
In this regard, NASA invites all amateur astronomers to help with scientific research on these two distant planets. The probe together with the telescope, as follows from the message in the blog of NASA, will study the characteristics of the atmospheres of Uranus and Neptune and the transfer of heat through the gas shell.
Astronomers from around the world can help with this because they have the ability to observe the planets for long periods of time, which is not available to the probe. They can measure the distribution of bright details on Uranus or describe unusually features on Neptune.
Photos can be posted on social media using the hashtag #NHiceGiants. Then the New Horizons team will collect these images and information.
Recall, the spacecraft New Horizons launched in January 2006. It has already flown past Jupiter, Pluto and its satellites.
Mankind is exploring space: the most impressive space missions.
