Cairo University scientists: poor oral hygiene leads to severe Covid

Cairo University experts have found a link between poor oral hygiene and severe COVID-19.

Scientists from Cairo University have reported a severe course of Covid due to inflammation in the mouth caused by poor hygiene.

The study examined the health profiles of 86 coronavirus patients in Egypt. It turned out that those who had poor oral hygiene had COVID-19 more severe and longer. The patients were also found to have high levels of C-reactive protein.

In addition, a coronavirus infection can accumulate in the patient's mouth. With this course of the disease, the viral load increases.
