Group of Russian scientists have listed vitamins that increase the effectiveness of vaccination

Scientists explained the influence of trace elements on the effectiveness of vaccination by their role in the functioning of the immune system.

Specialists from N.I. Pirogov Russian Research Medical University in collaboration with colleagues from the Federal Research Center "Informatics and Control" of Russian Academy of Sciences have found that human consumption of certain vitamins can increase the effectiveness of vaccination against infectious diseases.

In particular, folic acid, vitamins A, D, B12, as well as iron, manganese, selenium, zinc and omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids can increase the antibody titer after vaccination. Also, the above vitamins can prevent malaise after vaccination and reduce the severity of illness when infected.

The immune response to vaccination in people with micronutrient deficiencies may be inadequate. For this reason, in some cases it is recommended to accompany the vaccination with the intake of supplements, as cited by the experts "Izvestia".
