Scientists have discovered another useful property of vitamin D.
A study involving Professor Ilkka Harvim of the University of Eastern Finland and Kuopio University Hospital in Kuopio has revealed another useful property of vitamin D.
According to the material published in the journal Melanoma Research, an experiment involving volunteers showed that regular intake of vitamin D reduces the risk of melanoma by almost half.
However, the scientist noted that calculating the dose required for the therapeutic effect has not yet been possible. Therefore, general recommendations for use of this vitamin still need to be strictly followed, he stressed.
