A robotic dentist performed his first procedure on a live human

The robot was able to perform the procedure many times faster than a human. What takes a human about two hours to do, the machine was able to do just as well in just 15 minutes.

A dental robot developed by Perceptive with advanced artificial intelligence was able to perform a procedure on its own before placing a crown, which took it only 15 minutes instead of the two hours it takes a doctor to do.

The robot conducts a highly accurate and detailed scan of the mouth, creating a three-dimensional model of it without using an X-ray machine. This was reported by the publication New Atlas.

This is not the first tests of the robot on live people and all of them showed that it can work even if the patient moves in the chair. The head of the company-developer Chris Ciriello said that their invention will not only speed up dental procedures, but also make them more affordable.

In Moscow, a man died of blood loss after having a tooth extracted by a dentist.

American scientists have developed a self-learning neural network that succeeds in cloud research.
