It is the responsibility of the owner to dispose of rocket parts safely.
A mysterious object found on the coast of Australia in July is probably space debris. This was reported on Twitter by the Australian Space Agency.
The agency believes that it is a piece of debris from the spent third stage of the launch vehicle for satellites PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle ), launched by India.
The PSLV rocket is a medium-sized launch vehicle used by the Indian Space Research Office (ISRO).
The agency emphasized that it is the responsibility of the owner to dispose of the rocket parts safely. If the ownership of the wreckage is confirmed, it will have to determine its further fate with the Indian authorities. For now, the find remains in storage in Australia.
The head of the government of Western Australia Roger Cook offered to send the wreckage to the state museum in the exposition with space debris.
