The technology makes it possible to visualize objects behind a wall by the shadows they cast. So far, only simple geometric shapes can be seen with this technology.
Scientists at the University of Glasgow have created a "ghost imaging" technology that allows you to see an object behind a wall. The object is visualized by the light it scatters. New Atlas magazine wrote about the development.
The technology works with the help of artificial intelligence, which helps to recognize brain impulses generated by humans while looking at the stain.
The scientists tested the development on several people: they were invited into a room with a partition, behind which an object was placed and a light was directed at it so that the shadow fell on the front white wall; the volunteers wore an EEG helmet connected to a computer with AI. The test subjects had to look at the scattered spot, and the AI had to transform the brain signals.
The technology has effectively visualized objects. But so far it is only able to show simple geometric shapes. Scientists will continue to improve their development so that it can be used to see more complex objects.
