Cost of metro and bus fare will increase by 5 rubles in St.Petersburg

Smolny announced an increase in the price of a single journey in public transport in St. Petersburg from January next year.

In St. Petersburg, from January 1, 2021, prices for public transport will increase. Thus, a single journey on the metro will cost 60 rubles, and a ticket on land transport - 55, that is, their price will increase by five rubles. The cost of preferential travel cards used by pensioners will also increase by 10%, but this category of citizens will not notice a rise in price, since a travel grant is provided for it.

This innovation, according to the head of the transport committee Kirill Polyakov, is caused by the annual indexation of social payments and an increase in prices for fuel and electricity.

Prices for "long term" tickets will also rise, but, according to Polyakov, this increase in price will be insignificant.
