The results of the tender for the construction of the Big Smolensk Bridge over the Neva River have been summarised.
According to the information posted on the state procurement portal, the only bidder was recognised as the winner of the tender. The name of the company is not reported. The total amount of the contract was 2.6 billion roubles.
As follows from the terms of reference, the contractor will have to prepare the territory for the construction of the interchange on Dalnevostochny Prospekt and implement the second part of the project. All construction should be completed in autumn 2026.
Recall, the construction of the Big Smolensk Bridge has been postponed several times. The project was included in several general development plans of Leningrad and then St. Petersburg. The necessity of construction was caused by the acute shortage of bridge crossings over numerous water obstacles of the Northern Capital.
According to the project, the new bridge will connect the banks of the Neva River between Volodarsky Bridge and Alexander Nevsky Bridge in the section of Bolshoy Smolensky Avenue. The total length of the crossing will be about 1.6 kilometres.
