According to Dmitry Lisovets, chairman of the Committee on Healthcare, during a press conference in TASS on January 31, the hospital in Lenexpo is being urgently expanded for covid patients in St. Petersburg. The reason for the measures taken was a sharp increase in the incidence of covid disease and hospitalizations.
According to Lisovets, there are currently 8,744 beds in the city, of which 923 are for underage patients. The increase in hospitalizations in the last week was 40%, so there is a question of deploying additional beds. From February 1, 300 beds will be opened in the Lenexpo temporary hospital, and beds will be deployed in the 20th hospital on Thursday.
