In St. Petersburg, COVID-19 “prefers” non-workers, employees and workers

The Office of Rospotrebnadzor in St. Petersburg called the most «covid-dangerous» professions in the city. Maybe it is a good idea to enter a lockdown for them.

In October and November in St. Petersburg, the largest number of newly infected with coronavirus was recorded among employees (27-29%) and among workers (18%). At the same time, the share of workers in the statistics of new cases over the month more than doubled. This was told by the head of the epidemiological supervision department of the Rospotrebnadzor department in St. Petersburg Irina Chkhindzheria.

Of course, statistics take into account representatives of other professions. So, in new cases of infection daily from 3% to 9% are trade workers, public utilities, employees of catering, education, transport and medicine. At the same time, the number of doctors is decreasing, but trade and consumer services workers are growing.

30% of new cases are non-working citizens. Children under 17 years old - 12%. Unemployed and pensioners - 18-20%.

Irina Chkhindzheria said that in any professional sphere there has not yet been a significant increase in new infections, and Rospotrebnadzor does not recommend restrictive measures for them.
