Coronavirus restrictions in St. Petersburg will be lifted when 80% of the vaccinated population is vaccinated.
This was reported by the head of the department of epidemiological surveillance of the Rospotrebnadzor administration in St. Petersburg Irina Chkhinzheriya.
"We have a task to vaccinate at least 80 percent. This is a common requirement ... It is necessary to achieve collective immunity at the expense of vaccination," - said the functionary.
Chhingeria also said the population needs to understand that the coronavirus situation could last a long time. According to her, Russian citizens should accept vaccination as a necessary measure.
On October 25, the maximum number of coronavirus infections since the pandemic began was 37,930.
St. Petersburg came second among the regions with the largest number of cases - 3,127. Moscow is leading with 7,778 people infected with coronavirus during a day.
