The Delovoy Peterburg publication has calculated that of the approximately 5,300 stores selling alcohol in St. Petersburg, 3,600 of them are located in residential buildings. This list includes not only highly specialized retail outlets, but also supermarkets that sell alcoholic beverages.
45% of stores located in residential buildings are controlled by only five retail chains. And the famous chain "Krasnoe&Beloe" owns 17% of this number. Pyaterochka and Magnit have only 8% of this 45% each.
Most of all stores are located on the central streets of the city, such as Komendantsky and Leninsky avenues. But if you take statistics for the whole city, then about 40% of St. Petersburg residents can buy alcohol right in their homes.
