In St. Petersburg, the average salary continues to decline, and for the second month in a row the city dwellers face a decrease in their income. According to Petrostat, September brought a decrease in the average salary by almost 13%, which amounted to 12,992 rubles.
According to "St. Petersburg Diary", referring to the official statistics, in August residents of St. Petersburg earned an average of 88,163 rubles, and in July this figure was 91,587 rubles. The maximum level of salary was recorded in June and amounted to 101 155 rubles.
The reduction in salaries was felt especially by postal workers and couriers, as well as in the field of hospitality, catering, social security and health care.
Despite this negative trend, the overall statistics for the last year still shows an increase in average salaries of citizens by 7.8%. The most significant increase in salaries is observed among employees of manufacturing, transportation, warehouses, financial and insurance sectors, and in some cases amounts to 15-25%.
