On December 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin inaugurated the M-12 "Vostok" toll highway. This high-speed road can be used to get from Moscow to Kazan in 6 hours and 30 minutes. According to Avtodor, the road from the Northern capital to the capital of Tatarstan will take 14 hours, taking into account the route from St. Petersburg to Moscow.
The way lies through Moscow, on the highway M-11 "Neva", the passage will cost the driver 2400 rubles - it is eight hours and 720 kilometers. Then along the Moscow Ring Road you need to move to the highway M-12 "Vostok" and overcome another 810 kilometers in 6.5 hours. the cost is 4800 rubles. Thus, the full cost of the way from St. Petersburg to Moscow will be 7200 rubles.
Note that the M-12 "Vostok" high-speed highway opened yesterday is twice shorter than the old way from Moscow to Kazan. It is expected that in 2024 the highway will be extended to Yekaterinburg and Tyumen.
