The Institute of Finland closes in St. Petersburg after 30 years of work

The institute was a center for Finnish culture, where the Finnish language was studied and various seminars and meetings with writers were held.

Representatives of the Finland-Russia Society reported that the Institute of Finland is closing its doors in St. Petersburg after 30 years of operation. The institution was located in Building 8 on Bolshaya Konyushennaya Street and was a center of Finnish culture, where the Finnish language was studied and thematic events were held.

Earlier, the Finnish Institute announced the suspension of its work in Russia due to the political situation in Ukraine. Niina Sinkko, chief secretary of the Finland-Russia Society, expressed disagreement with the actions of Russian troops in Ukraine and said that she "didn't want to take any risks".
