Such a measure is dictated by the sharp deterioration of the epidemiological situation in the city.
Since December 20, St. Petersburg has introduced a mask regime in hospitals and at public events. The corresponding resolution of the department of Rospotrebnadzor for St. Petersburg was signed by the chief sanitary doctor of the Northern Capital Natalia Bashketova.
The document prescribes to provide masks to all employees of organizations responsible for mass events, regardless of their form of ownership. In addition, the mask regime is returned to all medical institutions - also regardless of the form of ownership.
The resolution emphasizes that the mask regime has been introduced due to the serious deterioration of the epidemiological situation in St. Petersburg, associated with seasonal exacerbations of influenza, acute respiratory viral infections and coronavirus.
The incidence of coronavirus infection from December 11 to 17 increased by 18.7% compared to the same period from December 4 to 9. As for acute respiratory viral infections, cases increased by 41.5%.
