Poland's sewage threatens the ecology of the Baltic Sea. The sewage can also reach St. Petersburg, experts say.
The thing is that Sulzer Pumps Wastewater Poland, a Polish wastewater treatment and transportation company, has stopped cooperating with Russian companies since April. And now if any equipment in one of the hundreds of companies breaks down, it is unlikely to be repaired.
Yuri Shevchuk, the head of the North-West Green Cross NGO, pointed out that Poland is the main source of Baltic Sea pollution of all the nine countries having access to the sea. Russia ranks fourth in this anti-rating.
