The contribution of foreigners to the economy of St. Petersburg last year increased by 84% compared to the previous period, according to the mayor's office.
According to the results of 2023, the contribution of foreign travellers to the city's economy amounted to 54.3 billion rubles (+84%). Compared to 2022, the average annual occupancy rate of four- and five-star hotels also increased: from 50% to 57% and from 47% to 60%, respectively.
Last year St. Petersburg was visited by 9.4 million tourists, of which 574 thousand came from abroad. In total, guests spent 482.7 billion rubles, which is 32% more than in 2022.
Recall that the number of migrants expelled from St. Petersburg increased 2.5 times. Wildberries will send compensation to the owners of the goods.
