The number of citizens registered as self-employed has increased by 20% in St. Petersburg over the first six months, according to the press service of the Committee for Economic Policy and Strategic Planning, noting that by June 30, 484.4 thousand self-employed have already been registered in the Northern Capital.
According to the Federal Tax Service of Russia, the total number of self-employed in the country is already 8.1 million people, and their total income exceeds 2.5 trillion rubles.
By the end of July, 525.7 thousand self-employed people were working in St. Petersburg, according to the Federal Tax Service. Of this number, the majority, namely 497.6 thousand people, are individuals, and the remaining 28.1 thousand are listed as individual entrepreneurs.
The number of underage citizens who have chosen a special tax regime of self-employment has also increased noticeably. As noted earlier, in St. Petersburg more than 8 thousand schoolchildren and students have already registered as self-employed.
